Chinese Government Scholarship (Guizhou University Program) is a full scholarship funded by the Chinese government to support outstanding international students for graduate studies in Guizhou University (GZU).
Program Category, Duration and Language of Instruction
a. This scholarship only supports graduate (master’s or doctoral) students. The scholarship duration is 3 academic years for master’s programs and 4 academic years for doctoral programs.
b. The teaching language is Chinese. Applicants with previous Chinese language study experiences are preferred. Applicants without Chinese language foundations can also apply to the program by including a 1- year Chinese language study in the application. All candidates must reach Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) Level 4 before being permitted to degree study. The scholarship duration covers both Chinese language study and degree study.
To be eligible, applicants must:
l? be a non-Chinese citizen in good health;
l? not be a registered degree student currently studying in China;
l? be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs;
l? be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs.
l? Fee waiver for registration and tuition;
l? Free on-campus dormitory accommodation;
l? Monthly stipend (CNY 3,500 for doctoral students and CYN 3,000 for master’s students);
l? Comprehensive Medical Insurance & Protection Scheme.
1. Applicants must submit an application in the CSC Online Application System at www.csc.edu.cn/laihua or www.ssbeb.tw. Click Application Online, set up an account, fill in the Online Application Form and Upload Supporting Documents truly, correctly and completely. Please note that the Program Category is B, and the Agency NO. of GZU is 10657.
2. Check your application carefully before clicking Submit (the application is valid only under Submitted status). Then print two hardcopies of the Application Form and send it with the other supporting documents in photocopies (two copies for each) by mail to Guizhou University. The documents include:
l? Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship
l? Valid passport homepage and 3 passport-photos
l? Notarized certificates of highest education (Prospective diploma winners should submit Student Status Certificate by their current school)
l? Official academic transcripts of highest education
l? A Study Plan or Research Proposal of no less than 800 words
l? Two letters of recommendation by professors or associate professors?
Completed Foreigner Physical Examination Form (the original copy and attached reports should be carefully kept by the applicant. The form can be downloaded from here: Foreigner Physical Examination Form
l? Applicants with valid HSK Certificate should enclose it in the application
Note 1: All documents should be provided in English or Chinese. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized English or Chinese translations.

?????? 4. The review and evaluation of the CSC applications will take a few months. During the process GZU may contact the applicants for interview or for further request of information. The final scholarship winners will be confirmed in July, followed by the delivery of enrollment documents to the scholarship winners.
